About the Journal
Voltarea is an international peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal founded in 2023 by the Faculty of Technology, Universidad Técnica de Oruro, Bolivia. The journal was established with the purpose of promoting the dissemination, visibility, and exchange of scientific knowledge in the field of Digital Technologies for Intelligent Energy Systems.
Since its establishment, Voltarea has progressively expanded its editorial scope, scientific contributions, and international outreach, strengthening its role as a specialized platform for research on the digital transformation of modern energy systems.
The journal provides a dedicated scholarly platform for the publication of original research articles, systematic reviews, scoping reviews, technological studies, scientific communications, and other academic contributions aimed at advancing scientific knowledge and technological innovation in intelligent energy systems.

Open Access and No-Fee Policy
Voltarea operates under a fully Open Access publishing model, ensuring free, immediate, and permanent access to all published scientific content.
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing users to read, download, distribute, reuse, and reproduce published content, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and the original source of publication.
Voltarea does not charge manuscript submission fees, peer-review fees, article processing charges (APCs), or publication fees, reaffirming its commitment to equitable scientific communication, accessibility, and the global dissemination of scientific knowledge.
Publication Frequency
Voltarea was established in 2023 and followed an annual publication schedule from 2023 to 2025, publishing one issue per year during its initial stage of editorial development.
Starting in 2026, and as part of the journal’s editorial consolidation, growth strategy, and increasing scientific activity, Voltarea adopts a semiannual publication schedule, publishing two issues per year:
First Issue: January–June (official publication date: January 1).
Second Issue: July–December (official publication date: July 1).
The journal follows a continuous publication model within each issue, allowing accepted manuscripts to be published online immediately after the successful completion of the editorial and peer-review process.
Manuscript submissions are accepted throughout the year.
